Common Timbers Available

Rimu

Most common of the NZ native timbers. Depending on its origin in the tree, is light to dark reddish brown with rich tones.

Kauri

Favoured for its rich golden tone with a distinctive fleck. Was common (mostly) in the North Island prior to 1930.

Matai

Deep tonal reds make this a popular choice. Supply is limited for this premium timber.

Others

Occasionally we have stocks of other species, please ask.

Heritage and Exotic Timbers

We have stocks of mainly Oregon and Australian Hardwood. We also have limited stock of Quebracho (Axe Breaker). This is a sustainably harvested South American hardwood and is one of the hardest timber known.

We can also supply a range of large beams and trusses up to 6 meters in length. These timbers are ideal for any heritage project

All our native timbers are sourced in New Zealand from commercial and residential demolition sites. Please enquire if you have a demolition you would like us to assess.
